Army day
Hey guys!!
On Thursday it was the much anticipated army day!! We started off the day with
Liat acting as our commander and screaming us to form a ‘Chet’ and then two
perfect straight lines. After being whipped into shape, Tomer, a Diller Teen Fellows
alun from Ashkelon who now serves in the tank unit, showed us around the base
and we were able to see inside a tank.
We then
went to a beautiful look out where a speaker came and spoke to us about the
Golan council and the boarders with Syria.
For lunch
we drove to the Katzrin mall and had delicious shwarma and hummus. Some of us
also become real Israelis and bought Shoresh!!
After
lunch, we went and spoke to some Shoah survivors and heard their inspiring
story followed by a peula from the madrichim about our memory/history of the
Jewish people.
After much
excitement, it was time for paintball!!! For the Australians it was the hardest
and most painful experience, for the Israelis it was a walk in the park. After
3 games the Israelis beat the Australians 3-0 – at least we tried. We then
arrived at the Jordan park were we had the best night sleeping under the stars
and eating poyke.
